Fiorentina midfielder Josip Ilicic admits ‘I’m glad I stayed here’, despite links with Bologna.
The Rossoblu were believed to have agreed a €7m deal with the Viola for the Slovenian international, but the 27-year-old opted to remain in Florence.
“I’m glad I stayed here,” Ilicic told Radio Crc.

“I’m glad I stayed here,” Ilicic told Radio Crc.
“I still have a lot to do in Florence, then we’ll see what happens. When you don’t play the way you want to, it’s normal you attract boos.
“Now I hope to progress, and never go back to that.
“The Coach will decide [where I play] all that matters to me is playing for this team. I’ll even play in goals…”
Ilicic also welcomed the return of Giuseppe Rossi to the fold, but warns he has some catching-up to do after missing the whole of last season.
“He’s always had the quality, even though he’s physically fine now, he has a lot of training to do after a long time out.”
