Hellas Verona midfielder Ivan Ilic has decided to accept Torino’s offer, despite the insistence of Olympique Marseille.

The 21-year-old Serbian midfielder has been quietly impressing with the Gialloblu since joining from Manchester City in September 2020, earning a €7.5m move following a positive year on loan.

Torino and Marseille have been fighting for Ilic’s signature for a number of weeks now and have both sent in offers to Verona.

As reported by Gianluca Di Marzio, Ilic has chosen Torino over Marseille and made his decision clear, prompting the Granata to try and close out a deal with Verona.

Marseille offered €15m for the Serbian midfielder and were willing to leave him in Veneto on loan until the summer. Torino proposed a deal worth €16m plus €3m in add-ons, as well as allowing him to stay until the end of the season.

Ilic has made 76 appearances for Verona since his arrival in September 2020, scoring five goals and providing six assists in that time.
