Multiple reports claim that Kylian Mbappé has decided to join Real Madrid as a free agent this summer, so Paris Saint-Germain are expected to activate Rafael Leao’s Milan release clause.

The initial suggestions that Mbappé had made his choice emerged in Le Parisien this afternoon, then escalated quickly and sources told ESPN the same story.

It was reported that PSG offered the France international a new contract with an increased salary, but he turned it down.

After being on the verge of a departure last year, this time he really does seem ready to let the contract run down, even if it means giving up on circa €100m in various bonuses.

If Mbappé does join Carlo Ancelotti’s Real Madrid, then the most likely target for Paris Saint-Germain is Milan star Rafael Leao.

As part of his most recent contract extension, there is a release clause believed to be in the region of €175m.

Leao plays in a similar role to Mbappé, on the left wing, and therefore is a more likely replacement than Napoli centre-forward Victor Osimhen.

  1. Leao the footballer might have been worth 150+ millions, but Leao the footballer AND artist is barely worth 100. Should suit PSG perfectly with other overpaid players.

  2. @wilson sorry mate, Leao is not even worth 80 million. He looks like a good player coz the other players are also mediocre. Only Theo, Maignan & Tomori are the worthy.
