Carlo Ancelotti would return to Italian football only for Milan, whilst he reflects on seeing Clarence Seedorf, Pippo Inzaghi and Rino Gattuso coaching.

The 55-year-old enjoyed five years with the Rossoneri as a player and a further eight on their bench as Coach, before leaving in 2009 to pursue his career abroad.

For the current Real Madrid man, a return to the peninsula would only be on the condition of a return to San Siro.

“If sooner or later I was to return to Italy, it would only be to Milan. But in order to coach them,” Ancelotti has considered to La Repubblica today.

“I never though that Inzaghi, Gattuso and Seedorf would be Coaches. If they have taken something from me and if they become important Coaches, I’ll be happy.

“Did Seedorf waste his chance? Coming in midway through a season is the most difficult thing. I have attempted it at Juventus and PSG.

“Clarence tried to affect an environment that was struggling to accept change. For him and the others I wish my own instinct in their choices.

“Would I Coach Italy? Conte is very good. Italy gets to a World Cup Final every 12 years and wins it every 24. I am applying for 2030 – I will be 71, I can do it.”
