Napoli are back in the frame for Mauro Icardi, if Arkadiusz Milik goes to Juventus, but it depends on whether PSG purchase him outright from Inter.

There could be another merry-go-round on the transfer market this summer when it comes to centre-forwards.

Icardi has spent this season at Paris Saint-Germain on loan for €13m and there is an option to buy for €70m, but it is far from certain that it will be activated.

The Argentina international scored 20 goals in 31 competitive games, but is criticised by some for not being a team player.

If he does return to Inter, they have no intention of keeping him due to the same reasons that forced him out last summer.

Icardi and his wife Wanda Nara repeatedly stated that Italy is their home and they returned here during the lockdown, despite it having more coronavirus cases than France.

According to FCInterNews.it, this all goes in favour of Napoli, who are revamping their forward line with Dries Mertens reaching the end of his contract – and linked with Inter, among others – and Milik not agreeing a new deal.

Milik is a firm target for Maurizio Sarri’s Juventus, meaning the Bianconeri would be out of the running for Icardi.

It therefore points to Icardi finally going to Napoli, as Wanda confirmed she had negotiations with Partenopei President Aurelio De Laurentiis last year.
