The Argentine, still only 19, has had a stunning 2013 so far. After scoring twice in the 2-1 win at Juventus, he netted four in the 6-0 win over Pescara on Sunday.

Icardi has been linked with Milan and Roma in recent weeks, but it now appears that Inter are watching him.

“If Inter really want him then they’ll have to go to Sampdoria and make them an excellent offer, then they can talk to us,” Abian Morano told Il Sussidiario.

“At the end of the season certain evaluations will have to be made because the big clubs are looking at him.”

Icardi, who has an Italian passport, moved to Doria in June 2011 from the Barcelona youth system.

“The Italian League suits Mauro better than the Spanish one where there is too much emphasis on possession,” Morano added.
