Inter striker Mauro Icardi calls Stevan Jovetic ‘a champion’, as he’s on the verge of joining from Manchester City.
The Montenegrin international arrived in Italy this morning, and will undergo a medical before officially joining on a €3m loan, with a mandatory redemption clause of €12m.
“I faced him when he was at Fiorentina,” Icardi told Mediaset when asked about Jovetic on the Nerazzurri’s tour of China.
“He’s a champion. If he comes then he’ll help us a lot.”

Last season’s joint-top scorer in Serie A was also asked about his goalscoring targets for the season, but the Argentinian is not willing to speculate.
“I never talk about numbers, because you count things up at the end of the season. I like to play as the main striker.
“[Coach Roberto] Mancini has asked me to get involved more outside the box, so I’m more involved in the action.”
