Sky Sport Italia reports Zlatan Ibrahimovic is expected to have an ‘operative role’ in Milan‘s sporting area, becoming a ‘reference point’ for owner Gerry Cardinale.

Ibrahimovic has met Cardinale and Milan directors multiple times over the last few weeks. The last time was on Monday, November 6.

The following day, today, Tuesday, November 7, the Swede posted a cryptical post on X, seemingly confirming that his return to the club is near.

Sky Sport Italia correspondent Gianluca Di Marzio claims Ibrahimovic is in talks over an ‘operative role’ in Milan’s ‘sporting area.’

This means Ibra will have decisional powers and will link the club with the team and Stefano Pioli.

According to the report, Ibrahimovic will be a ‘reference point’ for Cardinale at Milanello.

Di Marzio adds that talks between the two parties are at an advanced stage. Cardinale and Ibrahimovic are expected to meet again in the coming days to finalise an economic agreement.

Milan CEO Giorgio Furlani spoke about Ibrahimovic’s potential return Tuesday morning, saying that he’d be happy to work with the ex-Rossoneri star.
