Zlatan Ibrahimovic finally had his first meeting with the Milan squad today, over a week after returning to the club as a Senior Advisor.

The plan had been for the former striker to visit the training ground for talks with the players and coach Stefano Pioli last week, but it was delayed while the Swede recovered from a bout of flu.

Ibra met up with many of his former teammates at the Milanello camp, as the team returned to training after their 3-0 Serie A victory over Monza.

Following his retirement over the summer, Ibrahimovic seemed destined for another swing round to the Rossoneri, the club he fully admits meant more to him in his career after two different spells as a player.

He was named Senior Advisor to AC Milan Ownership and Senior Management, a role that leaves a lot of wiggle room for potential changes.

There have already been suggestions Zlatan is being lined up as a potential caretaker manager along with Primavera youth side boss Ignazio Abate should Pioli be sacked.

β€œMy love for the Rossoneri will never die, and the opportunity to be a part of its future in a meaningful way is something I could only have dreamed of,” said Ibrahimovic when his role was announced.

β€œFor me and my family, this is truly a homecoming with the cherished Club where I ended my playing career and am now starting my next chapter.”
