Zlatan Ibrahimovic posted a touching message on Instagram covering his career and ‘finding peace’ at Milan, with the legacy of ‘all the new Zlatans made by me.’

The Sweden international decided to hang up his boots at the age of 41, after a troubled season that saw him undergo knee surgery and make only four Serie A appearances, even if he was still able to find the back of the net in one of them.

Writing on Instagram with a picture of his feet, now free of boots, he looked back on the career that took him from Malmo and Ajax to Juventus, Barcelona, Inter, PSG, Manchester United, the LA Galaxy and finally “found peace in my new homeland in Milan.”

Ibra thanked everyone for helping to ‘make’ him and in turn “the legacy I hope to leave behind is all the new Zlatans made by me” with the heart of a lion and fire burning in their eyes.

There was also a sweet send-off for his agent and good friend, Mino Raiola, who died with Zlatan at his bedside in April 2022.

“Mino, we made it! The ride is over. It’s been an amazing journey. I miss you.”
