Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s injury troubles continue as the 40-year-old has been forced to the sidelines for at least 10 days due to knee issues.

The Swedish veteran has already missed 16 games through injury this campaign and his physical problems are continuing to prove bothersome, leaving him frustrated on the sidelines. Ibrahimovic was one of the four Rossoneri players not to travel with the squad for their goalless draw against Torino on Sunday.

As reported by Sky Sports Italia, Ibrahimovic will be forced to miss at least 10 days of action due to a knee overload, forcing him to undergo treatment. He will miss the upcoming matches against Genoa and Lazio, as well as the Coppa Italia semi-finals against intercity rivals Inter.

The 40-year-old Ibrahimovic has only played 19 Serie A games this season, for a total of 937 minutes. In that time, he’s scored eight goals and provided two assists, continuing to be a leader in the dressing room.

  1. I love Ibra but he is falling apart and can’t be relied on anymore. I say give him some role at the club but not as a player anymore.

  2. This is how older players’ careers end. Look at Zanetti. Was the picture of fitness for 17 years, barely any injuries. And then at 40, bam, one achilles tendon injury and he was just never able to get back to full fitness after that.

Condolences to Ibra, but I have to admit, its good for Inter.

  3. Well you could knock me down with a feather, I’m flabbergasted

    Ibra?! Injured?! Never?!

I am currently shocked and surprised in equal measures

    and also very sarcastic.

  4. He’s only human after all. It was a good run, and not many could do it for so long. Time for him to have mercy on his body and call it quits now.
