Zlatan Ibrahimovic wants to be Milan‘s 13th player this season and reveals he told Alvaro Morata that the Rossoneri’s No.9 is ‘the best’ they can offer.

Ibrahimovic briefly talked to the media ahead of Milan’s friendly against Manchester City.

The former striker had a key role in convincing Morata to sign for Milan and the Spaniard will join his teammates after the pre-season tour in the USA as he’s currently enjoying holidays after winning the Euros with Spain.

“I told him that Milan is an ideal place and that the No.9 position is the best we can offer, with players like Pulisic, Rafael Leao, and Chukwueze around him,” Ibrahimovic told reporters, as quoted by Gazzetta.

Ibrahimovic: ‘Playing football easier than what I am doing’

“We only want to make him happy, so he’ll perform better. I don’t know a player who is unhappy here, where you only have to focus on football. We are super confident and super optimistic, we welcome him with open arms.

“I want to be Milan’s 13th player on the pitch,” concluded Ibra.

“Fans are the 12th and I am the 13th.”

Ibrahimovic also joined Christian Pulisic for an interview on CBS Mornings on Friday saying that playing football was ‘easier’ than his current job. Ibra was appointed as Red Bird’s Advisor in December 2023 and is closely working with club directors on transfers and long-time projects.

Milan will meet Manchester City, Real Madrid and Barcelona during the Soccer Champions Tour, while the Rossoneri will make their 2024-25 Serie A debut against Torino on August 17.
