The Swede has only played 30 minutes against Lazio this season, scoring one goal.
He had returned to action after a knee injury, but he suffered a new physical issue after the game against the Biancocelesti.
The 39-year-old is now recovering from an Achilles tendon injury and according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, he won’t be available when Milan host Atletico Madrid at San Siro tomorrow.
Ibrahimovic is still training apart from the group and he is expected to return after the break.
The Rossoneri face Atletico Madrid in the Champions League tomorrow and visit Atalanta at the Gewiss Stadium on Sunday before the international break.
Ibrahimovic’s €7.5m-a-year contract expires in June. He has scored 26 goals in 38 appearances with the Rossoneri since his return in January 2020.
“This year, I have to listen to my body, every little signal it sends me. Only by doing so, I can avoid worse consequences. I need to listen to my body every day to play consistently,” he said in an interview with Sportweek last week.
“I need to think slowly, day by day, and think that I am not Superman.”
