An excerpt from an interview by Zlatan Ibrahimovic with Piers Morgan has been released, where the former Milan striker spoke everything from Pep Guardiola to being a James Bond villain.
The 41-year-old Swede hung up his boots in the summer after closing out his playing career with the Rossoneri, where he spent three and a half years following his return in January 2020.
Ibrahimovic played for Juventus, Inter and Milan earlier in his career, netting 156 goals and providing 69 assists in 283 total Serie A appearances. He won five Scudetti and three Supercoppa Italiana titles.
In an extract of his interview with Piers Morgan, Ibrahimovic was first asked if a tougher interview would produce ‘the real Zlatan’.
“Do you want to play with fire? I will be your fire. But you will burn. When I say I am God, do you think I am joking or not? I am not joking.”
He was posed the idea of being a Bond villain.
“I would crush Bond, but I am very expensive, I don’t work for free.”
The former Milan striker remembered his time at Barcelona with Guardiola.
“In our first meeting, he told me: ‘Remember, players here don’t come with Ferraris’. I brought my f*****g Ferrari.”
He was asked if scoring a goal was better than sex.
“Sex is better, whoever thinks different has a problem with sex. He should get help.”
Ibrahimovic remembered his former agent Mino Raiola, who died last year.
“It was a big loss, he was not only an agent for me, he was everything. I still miss him, we all miss him.”
Finally, Ibrahimovic was asked about something he did wrong in his career.
“I didn’t go to Arsenal. I don’t do trials. No no, you don’t understand, I don’t do trials. I am the best, f**k the rest.”
And how many Champions League titles did he win, I don’t recall…?
