Was Zlatan Ibrahimovic sending a message to the Milan directors that he’s ready to sign a new contract after his brace against Crotone?

The 39-year-old found the net twice at San Siro in the 4-0 victory that allowed them to retain the top spot in Serie A.

After the second goal, he was caught on camera making a gesture towards the stands, where directors including Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara were seated.

After the second goal, he was caught on camera making a gesture towards the stands, where directors including Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara were seated.

Ibrahimovic moved his fingers around, as if to say ‘another one,’ then waved one finger, followed by two, perhaps signalling the number of goals he’d added to his tally.

Sky Sport Italia interpreted it as a message that he wanted another year or even two added to his contract, which is due to expire at the end of this season.

He is certainly delivering, as Ibra scored 14 goals in 11 Serie A appearances this season, 16 in 17 competitive matches overall.
