Zlatan Ibrahimovic confirms he would love to ‘stay at Milan for life’ and jokes he could play with a third generation of the Maldini family.

The Swede was a guest on Che Tempo Che Fa on Rai Tre this evening to discuss his new book, ‘Adrenaline.’

He recently turned 40 and is still scoring goals, but his contract with the Rossoneri is due to expire at the end of this season.

“I want to play as long as possible, and as long as I have that adrenaline, I will continue,” replied Ibra.

“Let’s put pressure on Milan here to give me an extension and I hope to stay at Milan for life. I still have objectives that I can achieve and I want to win another Scudetto.”

The striker was asked if he fears what might await him when he does finally hang up his boots.

“I don’t know what will happen after football, so I am a little scared to stop. We’ll see, but I want to continue playing so that I don’t have any regrets.”

Milan are currently top of the Serie A table, one point clear of Inter and two above Napoli, so the title race is wide open.

Ibrahimovic is one of the few who has been able to play on the same pitch as two generations of the same family, as director Paolo Maldini was his opponent and now son Daniel is his teammate.

“It’s wonderful, we’ll see if the adrenaline continues and I can play with Daniel’s son as well!” laughed the 40-year-old.

Zlatan also revealed if needs be, he can fill in between the posts for the Rossoneri as well.

“I was a goalkeeper with one of my teams because I wasn’t happy with the one we had, so I said get out the way, I’ll take over!

“Adrenaline keeps me at this level, it is the key to everything. I was more rock and roll before, more focused on beauty, but now I am more mature. I was very active as a child and my parents never could keep me under control.

“I wake up every morning with pain, but I still have objectives in my mind. You have to get used to it and transform that suffering into positive energy.”

Now he is a father and reveals his son Vincent has a very special role model.

“He loves Rino Gattuso and has the same mentality, because when he does something, he does it at 200 per cent.”
