Coach Stefano Pioli and his assistant manager are both at home with COVID-19, as are another four members of the staff, so Daniele Bonera is standing in today.
“We miss Pioli a great deal, but we stay in contact every day, he talks to the team during and after training sessions, gives us feedback as if was there,” Ibrahimovic told Sky Sport Italia.
“Bonera has been doing a great job, it’s a new situation for him, but he knows all the players well and prepared well for this match.
“Every now and then I tell him, hey, don’t be stressed, there’s Ibra, I’ll take care of it.”
The Napoli coach is no stranger to Ibra, who was teammates with Gattuso at Milan for many years and said he’d go into battle with him.
“I don’t know him as a coach, only as a person and a teammate. I played with him, I played against him. He’s a great person and I admire him a great deal, he’s got such character and does everything to win, but there’s someone in this Milan team who also gives everything to win. It’ll be fun!”
Ibrahimovic seemed in a very good mood, laughing and joking during the pre-match interview, so he was asked about the contract extension.
“After I missed that penalty, we’re a long way off! I am not the dominant party in this conversation. I just have to keep doing well, then when (director Paolo) Maldini wants to talk, we’ll see.”
