Milan star Zlatan Ibrahimovic was furious with referee Livio Marinelli last night and Il Corriere dello Sport reveals what the striker said before leaving the pitch.

Ibra was introduced in the second half in a desperate attempt to score one goal against Bologna. The Rossoneri picked up a 0-0 draw that sees Napoli and Inter move closer to the top of the Serie A table.

Ibrahimovic was unhappy to see Bologna players waste time in the final minutes of the game with the match official not taking action. According to Il Corriere dello Sport, the Swede repeatedly shouted to the referee, ‘Compliments, compliments.’

Ibrahimovic hasn’t scored for more than two months. The last time he found the net was in an away clash at Venezia, won 3-0 by Stefano Pioli’s men. They are still the Serie A table leaders with a one-point lead over Napoli and four points more than Inter, although Simone Inzaghi’s men have a game in hand.

  1. Teams coming to san siro and wasting time has been a really overlooked issue. Udinese wasted so much time. They made a couple of subs…one of them literally spent most of the last 20 minutes on the floor, whilst Silvestri was taking 30 seconds plus every time he was taking a goal kick. Even taking 20 seconds plus to take throw ins. Referees don’t punish it enough.

  2. Even if the ref played 15 mins added time, Milan wouldn’t have scored. Ibra should save his “fury” for the average performance of his team.

  3. How bout this Milan…put yourself in a position whereas the other team cannot afford to waste time. Its called scoring earlier in the match. Now there’s a novel idea.

Absolutely. It’s a constant battle to score 1 goal against teams we should be beating relatively easily. Just look at the 2 previous games for proof.
