Milan veteran Ibrahimovic made his return to international duty at the age of 39 and made an immediate impact, as he controlled and acrobatically flicked down the ball for Viktor Claesson.

That proved to be the only goal of their 1-0 win over Georgia, but Ibrahimovic played for 84 minutes.

Elsewhere, Hungary and Poland played out a thrilling 3-3 draw with Piotr Zielinski, Arkadiusz Reca, Wojciech Szczesny and Bartosz Bereszynski in the starting XI.

Albania picked up a 1-0 win away to Andorra under Italian coach Edy Reja, with Marash Kumbulla, Elseid Hysaj, Etrit Berisha, Berat Djimsiti and Ardian Ismajli starting.

In the same group, England made short work of San Marino with a 5-0 victory.

Denmark won 2-0 away to Israel, with Christian Eriksen of Inter, Milan defender Simon Kjaer and Atalanta’s Joakim Maehle starting.
