Zlatan Ibrahimovic has revealed that he could join Monza if he wanted the old Milan. ‘Adriano Galliani called me and said they were 11km away.‘
Galliani brought Ibrahimovic to Milan back in the summer of 2010 and, whereas the striker has since returned to San Siro, the CEO is now at nearby Monza with Silvio Berlusconi.
“Galliani called me and said: ‘You said this isn’t your AC Milan. Your old AC Milan are 11km away from Milan’,” he told Gazzetta dello Sport.

“Galliani called me and said: ‘You said this isn’t your AC Milan. Your old AC Milan are 11km away from Milan’,” he told Gazzetta dello Sport.
“I like him, he works like a sporting director should. When he brought me to Milan for the first time, he came to my house in Sweden: ‘I won’t leave until you come with me.’
“Helena, my wife, looked at me upset: this is crazy, what does he want? I told her we had to go, otherwise he wouldn’t leave.
“When you want something, you have to take it. With actions, not just words.”
The Rossoneri have restarted the season strongly but without fans at their matches due to coronavirus restrictions.
“It’s strange without fans. They account for 50 percent of the game: they fire you up, they jeer you (which I like), they excite you.
“When I go under the Curva, I feel alive and it makes [the fans] happy. They pray to their God.”
The Swede recently confronted Galliani’s successor Ivan Gazidis at Milanello…
“What came out of our famous meeting was only 10 percent of what happened, but it wasn’t anything bad. It was just me talking on behalf of myself and the team.
“We talked to each other, clearly, to get answers on the situation, on our future.”
Zlatan turns 39 in October, so does he still wake up with the desire to train?
“No, not in the morning. I find it difficult to wake up. But when I train, I train. I don’t know, I guess I like to suffer in training. When I suffer, I feel better.
“I’m 38 now, but when we start running at Milanello I mustn’t do any less than the others.
“I have to do the same and more because that’s what I have in my head. I have to be better than the others in everything I do. I grew up like this.”
Finally, Ibrahimovic was asked about who could possibly take the baton from him.
“I hope there will be one for the sake of football and those who can still enjoy it, but I don’t see it.
“Ibrahimovic is the most complete striker of all and I still haven’t seen another Ibracadabra.
“Someone 1.96m tall with the power of Mike Tyson, who knows how to dance like Muhammad Ali and is quick like Bruce Lee… No, there isn’t one.”
