Zlatan Ibrahimovic has once again been involved in a verbal spat, this time with Sweden hockey legend Börje Salming.

Ibrahimovic has made his Sweden return five years after retiring from international football.

“I want to be clear, I respect Zlatan for what he does. It’s incredible, especially at his age,” Salming, a former hockey defenceman, told Aftonbladet.

“However, I don’t like his style, his gestures and what he says when he doesn’t achieve what he wants.

“However, I don’t like his style, his gestures and what he says when he doesn’t achieve what he wants.

“You can’t always get what you want, and when it happens, you must respect the others.

“I’ve asked myself why he does that so many times. He can’t do anything he wants just because he is a better player than the others.”

Ibrahimovic’s reply came thick and fast during a press conference after Sweden’s 3-0 win over Kosovo.

“I heard that Börje Salming opened his mouth and said something about me gesturing on the pitch, but if you do not know the person, you should not open your mouth,” the 39-year-old claimed.

“Because if you get a puck in the head, it does not mean that you do the right thing all the time. He should take care of himself, and I will take care of myself.”

Back in February, Ibrahimovic was involved in another verbal spat with LA Lakers star LeBron James with the Milan striker who had criticised LeBron's activism .
