The agent representing Roger Ibanez has denied reports Nottingham Forest have made a €25m offer for the defender. ‘It’s just talk of interest, nothing concrete and he wants to stay at Roma.’

The Athletic suggested today that a proposal had come in for the Brazilian centre-back from the Premier League side.

The 24-year-old has two senior caps for Brazil and his contract with the Giallorossi runs to June 2025.

“It’s just talk, there has been no offer from the English club to the player,” agent Lodovico Spinosi told TAG24.

“I heard rumour of interest, but it has not been followed by anything concrete at the moment. Ibanez is very happy at Roma and wants to stay, he feels respected by the coach and his teammates, he is in love with the city and its fans, so he wants to continue with the Giallorossi jersey.

“He is totally concentrated on training and giving his best for the squad. Naturally, if an offer were to arrive, we would listen to it.”

Roma purchased Ibanez from Atalanta in 2021 for €9m plus bonuses and a 10 per cent cut of the sell-on fee, after an initial 18-month loan spell.

He came up through the Fluminense youth academy and came to Italy for Atalanta in January 2019.

Ibanez has also been linked with a potential move to Tottenham Hotspur earlier in the summer and was one of the main candidates to be sold by Roma to raise funds.
