The agent of Vincenzo Iaquinta has defended his client from criticism. "It's clear that when he's not fully fit he doesn't give his best."

The Italian international, who has now been ruled out for the rest of the season with injury, has endured a problematic campaign in terms of form and fitness.

That has led to criticism and suggestions that the former Udinese striker's time in Turin may have come to an end.

However, speaking with TMW, Andrea D'Amico insists that Iaquinta is an important piece of the Juve jigsaw.

That has led to criticism and suggestions that the former Udinese striker's time in Turin may have come to an end.

However, speaking with TMW, Andrea D'Amico insists that Iaquinta is an important piece of the Juve jigsaw.

"He's always shown himself to be an extra man for Juventus when he's played," D'Amico noted.

"He's just had a bad year in terms of injury. When he's been in good shape nobody at Juve could attack space like he does.

"His performances and those of Juventus have always been good when he's been on the pitch. Last season he was out for three months with a knee problem and Juve missed him.

"The player has important abilities, but it's clear that when he's not fully fit he doesn't give his best. Now he's just focused on being at his best for next season."

Iaquinta has attracted the attention of English clubs in the past, with Tottenham repeatedly linked with his services.
