Former Fiorentina coach Giuseppe Iachini believes Rocco Commisso won’t sell Dusan Vlahovic in January and will make one more attempt to extend the striker’s contract.

Last month Commisso revealed Vlahovic would not extend his deal expiring in June 2023.

Fiorentina director Joe Barone refused to rule out Vlahovic’s January exit and some of the best clubs in Europe have been linked with securing his services.

However, former Fiorentina coach Beppe Iachini believes Vlahovic won’t leave the Stadio Franchi in January and Commisso will make a new offer to extend the striker’s stay at the club.

“Knowing Commisso, I don’t think he’ll be happy to sell Vlahovic in June. I think he will try to keep him and make him grow,” Iachini told Sportitalia, as quoted by Tuttomercatoweb.

“I don’t think the president will sell him in January either, he will do everything to convince the boy. That being said, Vlahovic can play in every top club, he has personality and in my opinion, he is ready for a top team.”

Vlahovic played 36 games under Giuseppe Iachini at Fiorentina, scoring 13 goals.

Juventus, Arsenal and Tottenham are in pole position to secure Vlahovic’s services in January even if the Serbian striker doesn’t seem keen to move to the Emirates Stadium.

The Gunners are ready to offer €80m to sign him in January, but the player’s agents are not convinced about a move to North London and are waiting for offers from other clubs.
