Palermo Coach Beppe Iachini has called for his side to follow the example set by the likes of Costa Rica and Mexico at the World Cup.
The Rosaneri boss is pleased with how preparations have gone thus far for the club’s return to Serie A and wants his players to demonstrate a team ethic when the new campaign gets underway.
“I am pleased because the team has worked by following what the technical staff have told them to do,” Iachini told reporters.
“We have continued to work in a certain way. We will start the season looking to play every match to the best of our ability.
“We will try to immediately show our identity, that should be our DNA.
“We must always remain a team, that is the critical concept. The President loves Atletico Madrid and I have liked Costa Rica and Mexico.
“They showed organisation in their game and had spirit that maybe made up for a few technical flaws.”
