Iachini was sacked by La Viola on Monday and replace by Cesare Prandelli. The duo met at Fiorentina’s training ground this morning.

“I want to thank the management and the staff that has been close to me these months starting from Joe Barone and Daniele Pradé, the medical staff, and all the extraordinary people who work with humility and passion within this club and who made us feel at home every day.
“I’m proudly linked with Fiorentina since my first day as a football player and since the unforgettable moments on the field with the captain’s armband.
“It remains the sorrow of not coaching Fiorentina anymore, but at the same time I feel a lot of affection for the team, which I want to thank openly.
“It’s a serious and special group that during this complicated pandemic period has always shown great professionalism and willingness to sacrifice, thank you guys.
“Finally, I hope that Viola will soon be back on the pitch with the support of our extraordinary fans, who we have missed infinitely and who represent the greatest heritage of this extraordinary Club, forever in my heart.”
