“I always clarified everything with the President,” said Iachini in his Press conference.

“We had some clashes this year, but they were resolved. In some incidents we were unlucky, but I am convinced we can have our say and as always we’ll play to win against Roma.

“They are a tough side, perhaps the worst opponents we could get right now, as they too are desperate for points.

“There are some players missing, but they still have forwards who are absolutely devastating. Despite losing to BATE Borisov in the Champions League, Roma did play well in the second half and almost equalised. Let us not underestimate our opponents.”

Iachini was asked whether Alberto Gilardino will be in the starting XI.

“He is working hard for the team, even if not at peak fitness yet, so we must give him time to settle in.”

Francesco Bolzoni, Michel Morganella and Uros Djurdjevic are all long-term absentees.

Matheus Cassini is in the squad and made his debut with the Primavera youth team this week.

Palermo squad for Roma: Alastra, Colombi, Sorrentino; Andelkovic, Daprelà, El Kaoutari, Goldaniga, Gonzalez, Lazaar, Rispoli, Struna, Vitiello; Brugman, Chochev, Hiljemark, Jajalo, Maresca, Quaison, Rigoni; Cassini, Gilardino, La Gumina, Trajkovski, Vazquez
