“I want to see a great game in front of our fans. I expect a lot from the team, the same character we showed to conquer our place in Serie A must be used to keep hold of it,” said the Coach in his Press conference.

“I want to see a great game in front of our fans. I expect a lot from the team, the same character we showed to conquer our place in Serie A must be used to keep hold of it,” said the Coach in his Press conference.

“We earned it, now let us defend it, all together.”

While Iachini did earn their promotion from Serie B, so many things have changed just in the last few months.

He was fired in November and recalled last week following a series of comings and goings.

“We are here to work and to try as quickly as possible to get to know each other again, to recover a few players from issues they’ve had, send some off to do individual work so they can improve their form and all this will take time.

“Nobody has a magic wand, but week by week we can try to improve matters so we can have the right campaign. At the same time, we are facing a difficult fixture list against teams in great shape like Bologna, so in front of our fans must try to put in a good performance.

“When there are 12 rounds to go and head-to-head clashes all over the place, one cannot be considered a decisive match.

“This is an important tie and considering we have just returned to the bench it is another opportunity to verify the tactical situation and what needs to be worked on. It’s also a chance to work on the mentality and see where we are in that sense, because mentality is going to be crucial if we are to overcome these hurdles.

“We need to play without thinking of the table, focusing only on a good performance in that single game.”

Goalkeeper Stefano Sorrentino remains in doubt to face Bologna tomorrow afternoon.

“We are also evaluating Stefano’s situation with the medical staff. There is one more training session to verify individual form before making a decision.”
