Fiorentina coach Beppe Iachini believes La Viola ‘can’t look at the Serie A table’ and reveals the players asked him to go into training retreat.

The Tuscans are hovering just three points above the relegation zone with five games remaining. They face Bologna at the Stadio Dall’Ara on Sunday.

"We have been working on the mentality and on tactics. When I arrived the players were worried, so I needed to work on this, as well as improving defensively,” Iachini said at a press conference.

"We have been working on the mentality and on tactics. When I arrived the players were worried, so I needed to work on this, as well as improving defensively,” Iachini said at a press conference.

"I told the players we cannot look at the league table and what others are doing. We need to play our football, organised, focused, because every detail makes a difference. No calculations on our end. We need big performances, and not worry.

“We need to get the best from every match, and I was happy that at the start of the week the players asked me to have a 'ritiro' a day earlier in order to prepare the game at Bologna,” the coach revealed.

"Bologna are doing well, Mihajlovic has done a great job and they have quality players. I expect Bologna to be angry after their loss against Atalanta. They have good players in every position, and are coached very well by Mihajlovic."
