Fiorentina coach Beppe Iachini has praised hat-trick hero Federico Chiesa and said President Rocco Commisso ‘is happy with the work we have done’.

Chiesa scored his first Serie A hat-trick in the thumping 4-0 win over Bologna on Wednesday and Iachini was quick to applaud the Italy international.

“Federico is a wonderful lad, he has always made himself available and immediately created a great feeling,” Iachini told Sky Sport Italia. “I initially played him up front but in recent games I brought him back to the wing.

“When I arrived, my idea was to make him match his personal record of goals. I’m happy that he reached double digits.

“I’m also happy for the team because it’s not easy to find motivation for the targets achieved. The guys did well.

“I consider this the eight result in a row. I don’t consider the match against Roma a defeat.”

Iachini admitted his own future is uncertain but stressed that he has ‘an excellent relationship’ with everyone at the Artemio Franchi.

“Commisso is happy with the work we have done. He is very satisfied,” Iachini added. “The club was very scared when I arrived.

“I have an excellent relationship with everyone, with the club and with the environment.

“It was a derby, wasn’t it? So, we wanted to honour him in the best way. I don’t know what will happen in the future, I will definitely talk to the club and to the President, with whom I have an excellent relationship.

“We will evaluate things together.”

The Viola sit 10th ahead of their last match against SPAL on Sunday and could confirm a place in the top half of Serie A with a win in Ferrara.
