The Rosanero remain in front of Inter, but only by one point after this 3-0 hammering.

“We prepared the game a certain way, but did not take that approach, which is to go for it, keep possession with greater quality and create more chances,” the Coach told Sky Sport Italia.

“Perhaps conceding the goal on a set play hurt our confidence, but that is not an adequate excuse. We had the chances to equalise and were more aggressive after the break, including an amazing opportunity when we hit the post and Dybala fired over. We could’ve got right back in the game at that stage.

“Dybala is very young and it can happen for him to have an off day. We turn the page and remind him to take the right attitude both when he is praised and when he is criticised.

“We all must have a different intensity, quality and pace compared to what we saw tonight. We weren’t incisive enough in the final third, as our passes didn’t have the right quality or timing.

“If you come to San Siro and lose the challenges, the duels and the second balls, that changes the game. We will talk about it with the team when training resumes.

“As a squad we know that if we lose that attitude and mentality, then we are going to run more risks.”

Italy Coach Antonio Conte was in the stands and is keeping an eye on Palermo forward Franco Vazquez.

“Considering his campaign, he can certainly deserve a call-up. He wasn’t as sharp tonight as usual, but over the course of the game he hit the woodwork and put through some good passes. He has these characteristics to change the game.”
