Sassuolo Coach Beppe Iachini warns interested parties that Domenico Berardi and Matteo Politano are staying to the end of the season.

The pair of attacking wingers are sought-after on the January transfer market, with Roma, Inter, Juventus and Napoli all linked.

“We have no plans to release Politano, Berardi or other players,” Iachini told Sky Sport Italia.

“Berardi is an important player, we are trying to get him back in shape physically and know he’s the man who can give us that step up in quality.

“This is the squad and we only need to add other elements, seeing as Paolo Cannavaro left and Marcello Gazzola could go too.

“It’s not easy for us to get back on track after the Winter break, but we have to improve certain ideas in training. We were gaining momentum, so hope that we haven’t lost any of that.”

Cannavaro has retired in order to join his brother Fabio’s staff at Guangzhou Evergrande.

“He was looking forward to this new experience in China with enthusiasm. Of course, we’ll miss him in the locker room, but we’ll try to cover that absence with teamwork.”
