Iachini admires Sassuolo spirit

Sassuolo boss Beppe Iachini admired their comeback in the second half against Atalanta, even if it wasn’t enough to stay in the Coppa Italia.

“We came here above all to see some lads who hadn’t been given a chance to show what they could do so far,” Iachini told Rai Sport following the 2-1 defeat.

“It was only normal that we’d make some mistakes and there is work to be done, but we already corrected a few issues in the second half and it was a very different performance. Then I saw the Sassuolo we’ve enjoyed over the last few weeks.

“This is the right spirit and these are necessary steps in the growth process. I liked the second half showing and the desire to fight back.”
