‘I thought I was going to die’

Nicola Legrottaglie has admitted that he feared for his life after clashing with Lazio's Libor Kozak. "I thought I was going to die," said the Milan man.

Legrottaglie made his Rossoneri debut on Tuesday following his move from Juventus, but ended up spending the night in hospital.

Legrottaglie was stretchered off after accidentally getting a knee to the head from the young Lazio player.

"I've had a scan and thank God everything is OK," Legrottaglie told Mediaset. "There aren't any serous consequences.

"The more I see the incident, the more frightful it gets because in those five minutes on the ground I couldn't move my arms or legs.

"In those five minutes I saw the film of my life in my mind."

Kozak had already accounted for Daniele Bonera earlier in the game after bruising his cheekbone, but Legrottaglie has forgiven the Czech.

"I don't blame Kozak for the incident," the veteran Italian defender noted. "I don't think he did it intentionally."

Legrottaglie suffered trauma and a cut to his forehead that required stitches, plus whiplash to the neck.
