The death of Sinisa Mihajlovic affected many, but none more so than his wife Arianna and children Viktorija, Virginia, Miroslav, Dusan and Nicholas, who posted tributes to the former Bologna coach.

The former Serbian defender sadly passed away at the age of 53 on Friday after a three-year battle with leukaemia, prompting an outpouring of support and love from across the footballing world. Following his diagnosis in 2019, Bologna decided to stick by Mihajlovic and he retained his role as head coach until his eventual dismissal in September of this year.

Writing on her Instagram page, his eldest daughter Viktorija posted a touching tribute to her late father, saying: “I hope you are well now my love, wherever you are I know how to love until there.”

His wife Arianna also posted an emotional tribute to her late husband, sharing a photo of them together smiling and writing: “When you will no longer be a part of me I will cut out from your memory many small stars, then the sky will be so beautiful that the whole world will fall in love with the night.”

Mihajlovic’s body is currently on display in Campidoglio in Rome, where hundreds of fans and well-wishers attended to pay tribute to the former defender. He will lay there until Monday, when he will be buried in a funeral at the Basilica of Santa Maria degli Angeli e dei Martiri.
