Turin Prosecutor Ciro Santoriello has landed himself in hot water after a video emerged online where he stated that he ‘hates Juventus’ and ‘supports Napoli’, infuriating the Bianconeri faithful.

Santoriello is the chief prosecutor in the now infamous Prisma investigation, which is focused on Juventus’ finances and allegations of both falsified capital gains and secret player payment agreements.

The Turin Prosecutor has now become the centre of controversy after a video, taken in 2019, showed him discussing his passion for football at event, where he stated “I am a super fan of Napoli and I hate Juventus.”

The video quickly went viral and has infuriated Juventus fans, who soon made ‘#SantorielloOut’ start trending on Twitter.

Some fans suggest that Santoriello’s statement amounts to an objection of justice, believing his footballing loyalties have tainted the case against the club.

Others highlight how the issue isn’t with Santoriello’s comment of support but instead his previous statement, when he said “but as a public prosecutor… I’m anti-Juventus!”

One tweet that resonated with many Juventus fans kept things simple, sharing the video and asking: “What more do we need to say?”
