Atalanta defender Berat Djimsiti wishes the best to Cristian Romero but insists he doesn’t know if the Argentinean will join Tottenham.
La Dea is in talks with Spurs over the signing of the Argentina international who would cost Tottenham circa €60m.
Djimsiti insists he doesn’t know what the future has in store for his teammate but wishes him the best for the future.
“I don’t know if he will stay, what I can say is that Cuti is an excellent defender and a great person, I’ve always felt at ease with him and I wish him the best regardless of what will happen,” the Albania international told La Gazzetta dello Sport.
La Dea have signed Juan Musso from Udinese, sending Pierluigi Gollini to North London.
“We need to work to find the best understanding on the pitch. Musso has spent many seasons in Italy, so hopefully, it will be easier,” the Atalanta defender continued.
“I am even more motivated than the last seasons. We are working hard with Gasperini and there are many interesting youths.

“I was really disappointed when we lost the Coppa Italia Final against Juventus, we deserved a title, but we have another season to do even better.”
Atalanta will play the Champions League for the third season in a row, which top club would he like to face next after PSG, Liverpool and Real Madrid?
“Bayern Munich, as it’s the club I’ve been supporting since I am a child,” Djimsiti said.
And who is the favourite to win the Serie A title?
“Inter have Lukaku, who is the toughest striker I’ve faced in Italy, I believe Inter and Juve are the best teams in Italy but don’t underestimate the others, especially with so many great coaches who have returned to Serie A.”
Djimsiti, 28, joined Atalanta from Zurich on a free transfer in 2016.
He then joined Avellino and Benevento on loan, returning to Bergamo in the summer of 2018.
Born in Zurich but with an Albanian passport, Djimsiti has 119 appearances with La Dea and 39 international caps to his name.
