The Germans are the top scorers in the Europa League this season with 28 goals in nine games, but were held to a goalless home draw in the first leg of the Round of 16.

“If we analyse the match carefully, I can say the most important thing was keeping a clean sheet,” said Hutter in his Press conference.

Marcelo Brozovic even had a penalty saved by Kevin Trapp in the first half.

“We wanted to score, but were unable to do so. Inter started better and we lacked courage, but changed a few things after the break and it went much better.

“I also feel there should’ve been a penalty on Sebastien Haller and Martin Hinteregger had a great chance one-on-one with Samir Handanovic.

“I was sent to the stands for dissent and I admit that I didn’t like my behaviour, so it was fair. I learned a great deal by watching the second half from the stands, with some valuable ideas going into the second leg.

“The result leaves qualification wide open, especially as we could go through with a score draw. Inter are forced to win on home turf and they are the favourites, but in the second half we showed that we’re on their level and are confident going into San Siro.”

Eintracht also hope to have star man Ante Rebic back for next Thursday’s clash, as the former Fiorentina man was out injured today.

“I don’t know if he’ll recover in time, so I can’t say much about his situation. We didn’t score, but that was largely thanks to Inter’s defending, as they are very difficult to play against.”
