Bologna have scheduled medicals for Mats Hummels, but the German veteran has left the club anxious after asking for a few days to fully consider the offer.

The 35-year-old German centre back is currently a free agent after leaving Borussia Dortmund at the start of this month and has been heavily linked with a move to Serie A, with clubs including Roma, Napoli and Como all interested in a possible move.

Bologna proved to be the most serious suitors in Serie A for Hummels, offering a deal worth €2m net per season plus add-ons, but now Real Madrid have seemingly joined the race, looking to pick up a replacement for Nacho.

Hummels creates Bologna anxiety

Page 16 of today’s Corriere dello Sport details how Hummels has put a stop to things to take time to reflect, leaving Bologna anxious after they scheduled flights and medicals for the veteran defender.

His entourage has assured the Rossoblu directors that his pause isn’t related to any other clubs and that he simply wants to fully evaluate things before making such an important decision.
