After Roma, Napoli, Milan, Inter and Como, now free agent Mats Hummels is being linked with a move to Serie A for Bologna.

The 35-year-old reached the end of his contract with Borussia Dortmund and is looking for the next experience in his career.

A product of the Bayern Munich academy, he spent his entire career between that club and Borussia Dortmund, but is believed to be hankering for an Italian adventure.

There are plenty of options for him, including Roma, Napoli and newly-promoted Como.

Hummels linked with Serie A adventure

According to Sky Sport Italia transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio, a new candidate is Bologna, who have the added benefit of being in the Champions League after a fifth-place finish in Serie A last season.

Milan and Inter were also mentioned, but seem more inclined towards younger players in defence.

In his career, the German won six Bundesliga titles, three German Cups, six German Super Cups and of course the World Cup.

Despite his age, Hummels made 40 appearances for Borussia Dortmund last season, also contributing four goals and one assist.
