Things have calmed down now between Nicolo Zaniolo and Mattia Zaccagni, with the pair making peace at Coverciano following their recent controversy.

Things got a little heated between the two following Roma’s Europa Conference League victory, when some fans sung an offensive song about the Lazio forward to a smiling Zaniolo, who did not sing along. Comments on social media were then made by Zaccagni’s partner, who previously dated the Roma man, and things spiralled from there.

As reported by Chi, Zaniolo and Zaccagni met during the Azzurri’s training retreat at Coverciano, where they calmly discussed the situation and put the situation behind them.

The two players are now on good terms and could be seen together on the pitch wearing an Italy shirt in the future, with the Lazio man out wide and the Roma forward in a more central role. Handling this situation maturely ensures no bad blood as the Azzurri look to transition into a new era.
