A 36-page document provided by the FIGC Court of Appeals explains how Fabio Paratici’s deals with Italian and foreign clubs, including Manchester City and Barcelona, contributed to a 15-point penalty for the Old Lady.

The Bianconeri’s points deduction has been formally explained on Monday in a 36-page document released by the FIGC Court of Appeals.

Juventus were the only club affected by a penalty because the Bianconeri “committed a sporting disciplinary offence, taking into account the seriousness and the repeated and prolonged nature of the violation,” explained the FIGC Court.

The document, scrutinised by Football Italia, highlights how several transfers, completed with Italian and foreign clubs, have contributed to the 15-point deduction.

“In a similar frame, operations carried out with foreign clubs mirror Juventus’ wrongdoing,” explained the FIGC court, mentioning several swap deals carried out by Paratici during his final two years at the club.

Among them are”Moreno-Andrade with Manchester City in 2019-20, Pereira-Marques with Barcelona, Sene-Hajdari with Basel, Bandeira-Nzouango with Amiens as well as Tongya-Akè with Olympique Marseille in 2020-21, and Monzialo-Lungoy with Lugano FC, also in 2020-21.”

As for the swap deal with OM, involving Franco Tongya and Marley Akè, FIGC notes that the invoice provided by the French club was edited with a pen and sent back to Marseille, asking to correct the figures.

Juventus had been cleared of allegations in a sporting trial looking into artificially inflated capital gains in May 2022 along with other Serie A clubs, including Napoli, Sampdoria and Sassuolo.

However, the case was re-opened following a criminal investigation carried out by the Turin Prosecutor which brought new evidence used by the FIGC Prosecutor Giuseppe Chiné, including several wiretaps and a notebook belonging to Federico Cherubini where the current Juventus director blamed Fabio Paratici for making ‘excessive use of capital gains’ to balance the books.

The FIGC Court describes Cherubini’s notebook, which he had written before discussing a contract extension with Paratici as a “creepy document.”

The new evidence collected by the FIGC Prosecutor only concerns Juventus, which is why the Bianconeri are the only team affected by the penalty while other Italian clubs involved have been cleared of allegation for a second time.

The FIGC Court of Appeals highlights that Paratici “had constantly operated through a system of artificial capital gains.”

It adds that “it’s clear that these real facts can no longer be effectively denied. The fact that Juventus didn’t distance themselves from it, regardless of any further relevance, has a devastating effect on sporting loyalty.”

Juventus have already announced they will appeal the ruling with the Collegio Di Garanzia Del CONI.
