According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Serie A clubs participating in the new Club World Cup will earn at least €50m, while the minimum prize money for the newly formatted Champions League is €60m.

The next season will bring several changes for top European clubs, with a new Club World Cup staged in the USA in the summer of 2025 and a ‘new’ Champions League involving 36 clubs across the Old Continent.

Inter are the only Serie A side to have qualified for the Club World Cup, but the Nerazzurri will be joined by one between Napoli and Juventus.

Four clubs from Italy’s top flight will participate in the Champions League but there is still hope to have five teams from the Peninsula participating in the tournament.

La Gazzetta dello Sport explains that the prize money for the new Club World Cup will be €2.5m billion to be shared by all clubs involved. The winner will get €100m, while the prize for qualification to the knock-out phase is yet to be determined. In any case, Serie A clubs will get at least €50m for the opening three group-stage games.

The minimum reward for participating in the Champions League is even higher. The total prize money is €2.7 billion, and clubs participating in the opening phase alone will get €60m each, 30% more than the current Champions League.
