Milan are reportedly monitoring the development of Monaco and France midfielder Youssouf Fofana ahead of the summer transfer window, but will likely face competition from a number of clubs in the Premier League according to reports on Wednesday evening.

The 25-year-old Frenchman has impressed with his consistency in the middle of the park in Ligue 1 this season and looks set to depart the Stade Louis II at the end of the campaign.

Fofana’s current deal with Monaco is set to expire at the end of next season, the summer of 2025, so he will be entering the final year of his contract when the upcoming transfer window opens.

However, despite his contract running down, Monaco are still hoping to fetch a transfer fee in the region of €30m for Fofana this summer according to updates from Calciomercato.com.

Milan would also likely need to present the player with an increased salary offer. Fofana currently takes home a reported wage packet of just over €2.6m per season.

The Rossoneri will also have to fend off interest from a number of clubs across Europe, particularly from Manchester Untied and West Ham according to Wednesday’s report.
