Juventus have permanently sold Merih Demiral to Atalanta for €20m, generating a positive economic effect of circa €11m.

The Turkey international has officially moved to Bergamo on a permanent deal after a one-year loan spell at the Gewiss Stadium in 2021-22.

There had been doubts on whether Atalanta would exercise their option to buy, but they eventually signed the player permanently from the Old Lady.

Juventus have confirmed the official figures of the deal in an official statement. They’ll get €20m which can be paid in four financial years, plus a maximum of €2.5m add-ons.

The Serie A giants add that”the agreement also includes a potential bonus, in favour of Juventus, of 10% of the increased consideration deriving from any future transfer (temporary or definitive) of the player’s registration rights to a third-party club, compared to the amount already paid by Atalanta to Juventus.”

The transfer generates a positive economic effect of €11.2m for the Bianconeri.

Demiral played 42 games under Gian Piero Gasperini last term, scoring two goals, including one against Manchester United in the Champions League.

Regardless of his permanent move to Bergamo, the 24-year-old could soon leave for the Premier League, where Newcastle have emerged as potential suitors for the Turkey international.
