Wojciech Szczesny has reportedly agreed to come out of retirement to join Barcelona, and according to reports, Juventus will save €2m once their former goalkeeper signs for the Catalans.

Several sources in Spain reported on Tuesday that Barcelona had targeted ex-Juventus keeper Szczesny to replace the injured Marc-André ter Stegen, who has been ruled out for at least eight months.

Szczesny announced his retirement in August after terminating his contract with Juventus, but according to Relevo, Barcelona have persuaded the ex-Poland international to reconsider his decision.

The Spanish outlet, however, adds that Barcelona must now negotiate with Juventus as the Bianconeri added a clause in the agreement with Szczesny last month, saying that they should have received a fee if he had found a new club.

Szczesny terminated his contract with Juventus in August, weeks before announcing his retirement, so the agreement with the Bianconeri is still valid.

However, according to Calciomercato.com, the clause allows Juventus to save €2m from the €4m severance pay agreed with the Polish goalkeepers last month. Szczesny had one year left in his €6m contract with the Bianconeri.
