La Gazzetta dello Sport analyses the financial implications of Paul Pogba’s return to Juventus estimating that the Frenchman has cost the Old Lady almost €230.000 per minute played.

The France international has suffered a new muscle injury, forcing him to the sidelines for at least one more month.

Pogba returned to the Allianz Stadium as a free agent last summer but has only made two appearances as a substitute this season.

Overall, Pogba has played 35 minutes, missing 34 matches. Considering his €8m-a-year contract, Gazzetta estimates that Juventus have paid him almost €230.000 per minute so far in 2022-23, exactly €228571.

The 29-year-old looked distraught after his medical examinations on Monday and even refused to sign autographs for Juventus fans, saying “Sorry, my head’s not in it.”

Pogba had suffered a meniscus injury during the pre-season and underwent surgery in September, missing the World Cup with France.

His contract at the Allianz Stadium expires in June 2026.
