Federico Chiesa is still on the hunt for a new club after being told he is not part of Thiago Motta’s plans heading into the 2024-25 season, but there is still a chance that the Italy international does not agree a move away from the Allianz Stadium before the close of the transfer window.
Chiesa’s agent has recently been in London for talks with Tottenham and Chelsea, but a move to England has not materialised.
Roma, Napoli and Inter have all been linked with a potential move for the former Fiorentina attacker, but a formal agreement with another club in Serie A is also yet to be found.
Juventus would rather sell Chiesa now, rather than lose him on a free when his contract expires next summer, but there is still a risk that the 26-year-old stays put for another year.
How much Chiesa will cost Juventus for another year
Chiesa is reportedly earning €5m per season plus bonuses on the five-year contract he signed at the time of his move from Fiorentina in 2020.
Juventus paid Fiorentina a fee of €40m plus €10m in bonuses for the player’s services, which spread over the five years of his contract, comes to an amortised cost of €10m per season.
Adding his salary into the equation, Chiesa’s value to Juventus stands at around €15m heading into the final year of his contract, although Calciomercato.com report that the figure is closer to €20m with bonuses factored in.
For that reason, Juventus must receive a fee of around €15m to avoid making a capital loss on Chiesa.
Sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli, meanwhile, is hoping to fetch a fee of €25m, although the club are prepared to entertain offers around €20m, according to Wednesday’s updates.

This is all on Chiesa. I personally think he was very unprofessional and disrespectful to Allegri. No one wants a player like that. I feel like that he also did not give a 100% last season. He was always on the ground and wanted a foul.
If he do not leave then put him on the stand for the whole season and also ban him from training with the team.
They treat players like dirt, and then expect loyalty and good behaviour in return.
