According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Champions League meeting between Real Madrid and Liverpool could define the future of Jurgen Klopp and Carlo Ancelotti, with the Italian tactician courted by Brazil.

The former Milan midfielder and coach will face Klopp at Anfield on Tuesday night in their first meeting since last year’s Champions League Final, won by the La Liga giants.

As highlighted by Gazzetta, both coaches are facing an uncertain future at their clubs. Klopp’s Liverpool are currently out of the top four in the Premier League while Ancelotti’s Madrid sit second in La Liga but are eight points below their rivals Barcelona.

Ancelotti has a contract until June 2024 at the Bernabeu, but Florentino Perez may not accept to end the season with no domestic title or another triumph in the Champions League.

This is why the meeting with Liverpool in the Champions League Round of 16 could define Ancelotti’s future, especially considering that Brazil are courting the former Italy midfielder.

Ancelotti has recently claimed that he is not considering leaving Madrid before the end of his contract unless the La Liga giants sack him.
