Nicolò Fagioli has been suspended for seven months, but Juventus have shown full support to their midfielder, who continues training with the team and hasn’t received a pay cut.
The 22-year-old has been banned for seven months following his involvement in a betting scandal. He has admitted gambling on football games, but not those of Cremonese and Juventus, the only two clubs in his career, and sought help to treat gambling addiction.
Multiple sources in Italy, including Corriere dello Sport and Tuttosport, claim Fagioli will continue training with the team following his suspension. The Italy international was at Continassa on Wednesday to work with the first team, although he can’t be involved in official matches.
Juventus don’t want to abandon the Italian midfielder who will keep his salary during the seven-month ban. The club will also guide him through a path to treat his addiction.
In the meantime, Fagioli has deactivated his Instagram account and is already working hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel.
